The "Leader of the Year 2002" Award Presentation Ceremony organized
by Sing Tao Newspaper Group Limited was successfully held on January
23, 2003 at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. Celebrating its ninth anniversary
this year, the award presentation ceremony paid tribute to those who
have made outstanding contributions to the social and economic development
of Hong Kong for the past year, so as to establish role models for
the young generation.
The ceremony was highlighted by the special appearance of The
Honourable Tung Chee-Hwa, the Chief Executive of HKSAR and Mr. William
S. Cohen, former Secretary of Defence for the United States as the
Guest of Honour, together with elites and celebrities to witness
the ceremony. The following six winners for 2002 were selected by
a Panel of 10 Judges chaired by Dr. Lawrence T. Wong, Chief Executive
of The Hong Kong Jockey Club.

The
magazine publishing arm of Global China Group - China Touch Media
Solutions and Services Limited ('China Touch' ) has formed partnership
with one of the top 50 publishers in Japan - Kotsu Times Sha Group
to launch its magazine Brand Selection Series introducing international
brand consumer products in Chinese edition. China Touch is the first
publisher in Asia authorized by Kotsu Times Sha Group for the Series'
global distribution. Publishing Director of China Touch Jeff Lee
said market response was overwhelming during the first launch of
Brand Selection Series - Louis Vuitton Super Collection 2002-2003
in Hong Kong last year. "Coming up will be Hermes and Gucci, " said
Jeff.
Two new magazines, Caz Buyer and Toy King, have also been launched
since November 2002. Caz Buyer is the first info-advertisement car
title in Hong Kong that carries extensive information on automobiles,
ranging from the latest car models to those of second-hand resale
information. Toy King is the first toy magazine targeting adult
fans, introducing latest creations and discovering hottest toys
and games around the world. It also publishes a Singapore version
and a Taiwan version.

The
'China Media Investment Report 2002-2003' published by Global China
(Beijing) Media Consultancy Company Limited in February has captured
great market attention in the PRC media industry.
As a comprehensive media investment guide for domestic and foreign
media operators, investment funds, research houses, advertising
companies and those seeking an in-depth understanding of media investment
in the PRC, the 'China Media Investment Report 2002-2003' is the

Global
China Human Capital Management Holdings Limited ('GCHCM') announced
in January 2003 its acquisition of Beijing Founder Information Technology
Company Limited ('Beijing Founder') in a bid to venture into the
human capital management market in the PRC. Beijing Founder is the
third business initiative under the umbrella of GCHCM, which comprises
Hong Kong flagship recruitment media Job Market and Beijing China
HCM Limited. Beijing Founder was formerly the joint venture company
of Founder International Inc. (Japan) and Beijing Yuancai Advertising
Company.
According to Fanny Chan, CEO of GCHCM, the RMB 10 million investment
would focus on providing recruitment media service and enrollment
advertisement service. " The human capital market is booming in
China, we believe the strategic acquisition will enhance our overall
HCM business further and we are on the right track to grow. Besides
Job Market in Hong Kong, we now have extended our reach to Beijing,
having China HCM to concentrate on continuing education and Beijing
Founder to focus on recruitment media," outlined Fanny.
Beijing Founder, after restructuring, will revamp the existing
website and recruitment magazine 'ZhiHai' into a weekly recruitment
magazine and to be renamed as 'Good Jobs'. The magazine, which will
be launched in March, comprises talent recruitment and educational
enrollment advertisement, coupled with success stories and interviews
from all walks of life.

China HCM Limited has formed partnership with IntraLearn Asia, a global
IT e-learning solutions provider to deliver distance education to
the masses in the PRC. The collaboration has made possible for ChinaHCM,
a joint venture company between Global China and UIBE (University
of International Business and Economics in Beijing), to build a high
quality web-based distance education college, namely the eUIBE, with
customized software modules targeting distant learners in China. eUIBE
is also one of the leading institutions in China whose platform is
complied to major international e-Learning standards such as AICC,
SCORM and IMS. Since its establishment in September 2002, eUIBE has
already attracted more than 2000 students and has become the major
academic development of UIBE.

Customer base of Beelink broadband network in Jinan City, the capital
of Shandong province, has risen to 45,000 by the end of 2002, representing
a tremendous increase of 33% year-on-year. With over 95% coverage
of the urban area in Jinan city, Beelink broadband network targets
corporate users including government organization, financial institutions,
insurance companies as well as residential users.
The network is developed by Beelink Information & Science Technology
Company Limited which is jointly operated by Global China Group,
Sanlian Group and Shandong International Trust and Investment Corporation.
