Sing
Tao Daily has formed a content exchange collaboration with Guangzhou
Daily and Taiwan-based China Times Weekly respectively in June and
July this year with an aim to introducing exclusive regional news
to its readers in Australia and the U.S. Prior to the collaboration,
Sing Tao Daily had already formed a similar partnership with the
Shanghai-based Xinmin Evening Post at the end of last year.
Mr. Lo Wing Hung, CEO of Sing Tao Newspaper Group Limited, said
the alliance with Guangzhou Daily was to insert a page of Guangzhou
Daily as a special supplement in Sing Tao Australia edition. This
will enable the Australian Chinese readers to grasp riveting accounts
of the events in the Southern China region.
Subsequent to the news exchange arrangement with Guangzhou Daily
in June, Sing Tao Daily also established a tie up with the popular
entertainment magazine in Taiwan ˇV the China Times Weekly to publish
a supplement, Sing Tao Times Weekly, to enhance its coverage on
entertainment news.
He added that Sing Tao Daily had a total of 16 overseas editions
with a daily average circulation of 200,000 copies in over 100 cities
around the world. 'In fulfilling our objective to provide global
Chinese communities with quality news, the enhancement of the content
of overseas editions is vital to our overall global media development.
It is particularly important to adjust the content offerings accordingly
as the Chinese immigrants come from different part of China. It
is for this reason that we line up with different regional newsmakers
to repackage our overseas editions so as to cater to the diverse
preferences and needs of the wide-ranging Chinese audiences.' outlined
Mr. Lo.
