Daily Becomes Hong Kong's
Most Widely
Circulated Free Newspaper

Headline Daily, a new free newspaper
published by the Group, was launched on July 12. The newspaper is
tailored to the mass consumers of Hong Kong and quickly become a
favourite amongst the working population with good response from
advertisers.
Headline Daily's circulation reaches 500,000
copies per day and is distributed during morning peak hours from
Monday to Friday. With the most extensive distribution network, the
newspaper can be conveniently picked up at 3 fixed distribution channels
- McDonald's restaurants, KCRC East Rail stations and over 460 residential
estates. In addition, Headline Daily is available at commercial buildings
and Caltex Service Stations, and will also continue to be distributed
by hand in high-traffic areas throughout Hong Kong Island, Kowloon
and the New Territories.
To promote its launch, Headline Daily embarked
on a series of marketing activities, including the redemption of
"Pressure Essence Balls", which was extremely popular,
and other exclusive offers to readers.
Inauguration
of Express Post, the Only Free Weekend
Newspaper in Hong Kong

In view of the huge market potential for free newspapers in the weekend,
the Group has joined hands with MTR to launch a brand new weekend newspaper,
Express Post. Unveiled on September 17, the newspaper is distributed
at MTR stations every Saturday morning.
In fitting with the lifestyle and weekend needs
of Hong Kong people, Express Post has a mix of local and international
news, entertainment and sports, and special "features" tailored
for shopping and other weekend activities along MTR stations. The
newspaper has an average circulation of around 300,000 copies, and
is expected to quickly become a market leader.

Daily Enriches Content for the Education
Section
Sing
Tao Daily's Education Section enriches its content offerings and launches
a series of promotions to further strengthen its leading role in the
market.
Sing Tao Daily has published a number of educational
guidebooks during this summer. The redemption of HKCEE and HKALE
guidebooks was met with great success. Besides, Sing Tao Daily also
published a 200-page "Liberal Studies Teaching Kit" in
September, which contained over 100 pieces of teaching materials
and was the first-of-its-kind in Hong Kong. In addition, to cope
with the curriculum changes that arise from government's education
reform, bilingual sections will be introduced in the Education Section
in the new school year.

Contest 2005"
East
Week organized the "Slimming Ambassador
Beauty Contest 2005" award presentation at the Harbour Plaza
Hong Kong on July 19. Assessment was done by a panel-of-judges comprised
of leading figures including Mr. William Tang, Ms. Ranee Kok, Mr.
Simon Yam and East Week editorial committee, together with the public

Week Celebrates 100th Issue and Breakthrough in
Circulation
In celebration of the 100th issue since its
re-launch, East Week organized a series of promotional offers to
readers in 4 consecutive issues. The content of East Week has also
been enhanced with a new section "Maximum Luxury", covering
information on luxury lifestyle, fashion, cuisine, timepieces and
jewellery.
Since last December, East Week has offered an
Airport Version to travellers at Hong Kong International Airport
at a special discount cover price. Sales of the Airport Version has
reached over 10,000 copies per issue within a few months.

Touch Kicks off Summer Promotion Programme
As
part of its summer promotion programme, East Touch held the Hong Kong's
largest sneakers exhibition, "The
2nd Sneakers Expos in Town", at the New Town Plaza during July
21-27. At the show, over 200 styles of sneakers of different brands
were displayed and attracted over 10,000 visitors. Moreover, a public
recruitment was organized on July 23 for the "iSlim Girls Contest".
There were more than
a thousand participants and the event drew excellent response.
After several rounds of interviewing and screening, 10 iSlim Girls
were selected to attend the final round competition at the end of
September. East Touch also hosted a "Cocktail Wine Mixing Workshop" during
the summer and invited a famous bartender to teach wine
tasting, colouring and how to use wine accessories. In addition,
to reward readers' continuous support, East Touch also offered
a variety of exclusive privileges and will continue to offer benefits
to its readers in the future.
PC Market
Enhances Content Offerings and Launches "D.I.Y. Tool Book"
PC Market was revamped in mid June with a new
cover and layout. Contents have also been enhanced by including a
new section "Play!", which features digital and AV gadgets.
In celebration of the revamp issue, PC Market kicked off a series
of promotional activities by giving away a range of gifts to readers.
In addition, PC Market launched a "D.I.Y. Tool Book" on
August 19. The 160-page colour printed guidebook covers practical
tips and information on computer setup, and is the must-read computer
book for new users as well as I.T. fanatics. The "D.I.Y. Tool
Book" redemption programme was widely popular and met with overwhelming
response. Further print-runs have been made to fulfill readers' demand.

The I.T. sector annual event "Hong Kong
Computer & Communications Festival", was held at Hong Kong
Convention and Exhibition Centre during August 19-22 and attracted
approximately 280,000 visitors. PC Market, being one of the media

Media Alliance" with Guangzhou Daily, Beijing Youth Daily, Shenzhen

Hosts the Largest Career
Planning and
Education Fair

The Career
Planning and Education Fair , hosted by JobMarket was held
at Diamond Hill Plaza Hollywood on June 25-26. Benefiting from
the favourable job market condition, the two-day event attracted
approximately 5,000 visitors.
By combining the two elements - Career Planning and Education, the Fair offered
more than 1,000 job openings and on-site interviews for job seekers. In addition,
42 educational institutes were there to provide extensive range of education-related
information and advices. To reinforce its philosophy of "Success Begins
with Career Planning", JobMarket also invited Hong Kong Federation of Youth
Groups' career planning and education consultancy to provide free aptitude test
and one-on-one consultancy services to visitors.

Hong Kong Book Fair

By
the third quarter of this year, the number of titles published by Sing
Tao Publishing has increased to over 285, and best-sellers were exhibited
at the Hong Kong Book Fair held on July 20 - 25, focusing on parenting
(such as "100 Encouraging Golden Phrases Series", "100
Bedside Stories Series" and "100 Vocabularies for Students
Series"), travel (such as "Next Station – Tokyo", "Next
Station – Macau & Zhuhai", "Next Station – Seoul" and "Next
Station – Guam") , educational (such as "Trivia – Public
Affairs 1 & 2" and "A Petits Pas") and lifestyle
topics (such as "Teddy Bear", "Complete Guide to Top
Schools in UK", "Strategies to Home Maids", "Chow

Disney Promotions
DISNEY CHANNEL - Summer Creative Learning Program,
organized by Sing Tao Publishing and sponsored by Netvigator and
DISNEY CHANNEL, was held in June and July. During the period, Sing
Tao Publishing visited more than 20 primary schools and presented
trilingual Disney movies to more than 20,000 students. Question and
answer sessions and games have also been arranged as part of the
promotional activity to enhance students' language skill and creativity.
Looking ahead, Sing Tao Publishing will continue to organize a series
of marketing events to enhance communication between parents and
their children, and to promote Sing Tao Publishing brand and publications
to families.

China Circulation &
Distribution Raises Funds for
PRC
Children

With the support from various publishing companies,
Global China Circulation & Distribution (GCCD), being a new
exhibitor at the Hong Kong Book Fair this year, exhibited a range
of quality books to promote reading habit among students. GCCD
has also taken the opportunity to help the poor children in the
PRC to receive schooling through charity sales and contributing
a portion of the Book Fair's revenue to "Sowers Action – The
Long March for Education".

Distribution Obtains "GUGO"
Comic Book
Distribution Rights

Following the joining of "Firefly Kids" of
Crown Publishing (HK) Limited into our distribution network, GCCD
became the licensee of the popular comic book "GUGO" of
Portal Publishing Limited for distributing in Hong Kong and Macau. "GUGO",
being the first comic book in Hong Kong with moral educational value,
is presented in a cartoon format. In addition, starting from August, "GUGO" is
broadcasted at TVB Jade on every Saturday.

Sing Tao Overseas
at a Glance

To celebrate the 30th and 40th anniversary of
Sing Tao Daily Eastern and Western Edition, New York and San Francisco
bureaus held celebration dinners on August 1 and over 1,000 guests
from various sectors were invited to share these memorable events.
To pay tribute to Sing Tao's long-standing service to the local Chinese
community, Michael
Bloomberg, the Mayor of New York, and Gavin Newsom,
the Mayor of San Francisco, declared August 1, 2005 as "Sing
Tao News Group Day" and "Sing Tao Daily Day" respectively.
In Europe, Sing Tao Daily's London Bureau also held a celebration
dinner to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its edition on August
15.
Sing Tao Daily's New York Bureau, being the
exclusive Chinese printed media, sponsored the annual "Hong
Kong Dragon Boat Festival" on August 13-14 for the second year.
In addition, Sing Tao Daily's London Bureau also sponsored the annual
event "Ascot Hong Kong Day 2005" on July 24 for the local
Chinese Community.

Interim Results 2005
Sing Tao News Corporation Limited announced its interim results on September
14 and reported a significant turnaround in profitability on the back of solid
revenue growth. Overall, consolidated turnover increased by 26% in the first
half of 2005 to HK$854.9 million and a profit attributable to equity holders
of HK$43.5 million was achieved, mainly driven by the recovery of our Media operations
as well as a one-off gain on waiver of a payable relating to a joint venture
investment.
The Board also announced an interim dividend of HK0.5 cents per share to shareholders.

Presents Long Service Awards

The "Long Service Award Presentation Ceremony
2005" was held on 1 August. In celebrating Sing Tao Daily's
67th anniversary, 47 staff were presented with Long Service Awards.
Among the awardees, Ms. Woo Kit Bing has served the Group for 40
years. Ms. Woo, after collecting the award said, "I was the
youngest staff when I joined Sing Tao Daily in 1965 and today I become
the longest serving member of the Group. The achievements of Sing
Tao have always been my inspiration and encouragement during my career
here." Mr. Ong Ching Seng, who served the Group for 20 years
said, "We used to have manual type-setting when I joined the
Company, but nowadays, all type-settings have been computerized.
Besides, the black and white printing has also been replaced by color
printing. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all department
heads for giving us opportunities to equip ourselves through participating
in different work processes." At the ceremony, Mr. Lo Wing Hung,
Chief Executive Officer of the Group said, "The awardees have
gone through good times and hard times with the company and I would
like to give special thanks to all of them for their contribution
to the Group."
